Course Description: Senior Art: This course emphasizes design in both 2 and 3 dimensional areas of art, exploring lifetime thinking skills and creative problem solving skilled in the areas of drawing, design, sculpture, painting, pottery, and printmaking. Self-evaluation, and the elements and principles of art will be integrated. A focus of the class will be the understanding that you may be coming in with many, few or no prior art experiences. The focus will be based greatly on attendance, work ethic, meeting deadlines and a willingness to learn how to work with a variety of materials and styles!

Classroom Policies:
Be respectful. Listen and don’t talk over others. Work in your assigned seat during class time. Do your best. Cell phones only allowed with teacher permission. Laminated pass must be used to leave room with permission.
Attendance: “Absences will not arbitrarily result in reduction in grades. Students and/or parent or guardian are responsible for requesting make-up work for each day's absence” (Irondale Student Handbook). Please contact in advance if you know you will be absent, otherwise make sure to touch base with me after an absence to figure out how to get caught up. The is often a direct correlation between attendance and academic success.
Tardies: Show up on time! Tardies will be tracked and contacts will be made as needed with Deans, parents/ guardians and administration. Let's make this a great semester by showing up on time and working hard!
Relearning Opportunities:
Relearning opportunities are available throughout the semester- specifically during Knight Time. Work can be re-done for a better grade. In order to be successful, students should utilize the time available in class to ask questions and receive assistance from the teacher. Teachers can be available before or after school by appointment.
